A PERSON was airlifted to hospital following a domestic incident near Ruthin on Tuesday morning.

The Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) was called just before 9.45am to report a person needing "urgent medical attention" at a property in Rhewl.

It sent two emergency vehicles which were supported by a Wales Air Ambulance helicopter.

North Wales Police said it was not required to attend the incident.

A spokesperson for the WAS said: “We were called on September 17 at approximately 9.42am to reports of a person needing urgent medical attention following a domestic incident near Rhewl.

"We responded with one rapid response vehicle, one emergency ambulance and our crew was supported by the Wales Air Ambulance.

"One patient was transported by air ambulance to Royal Stoke University Hospital.”
