AN EXHIBITION showcasing the history of a Flintshire town will take place next month.

The event will run on October 4 and October 5 in Mold, with a series of exhibits showcasing the town's history.

It will run 10.00am and 6.30pm on the Friday and 10am to 1pm the following day at Mold Town Hall.

A large display of photographs and memorabilia showing the history of Mold over the last 150 years will be on display, along with the historic Council Chamber - which will be available free of charge for the public to view.

There will be a short talk by local Historian David Rowe on Friday (October 4) at 11am, 2pm and 5.30pm and on Saturday (October 5)at 10.30am and 11.30am

Exhibits this year will include Mold through the centuries, a history of Mold and District through photographs and other memorabilia. This is as well as a history of North Wales Mining, with coal mining was a major industry throughout the area. This will be courtesy of the North Wales Miners Association Trust, and the trust’s exhibits will include photographs, objects and memorabilia associated with this once major industry.

There will also be an exhibition on 100 years of the Ruthin to Mold Bus Service in July 1919, which was Crossville Motor Services and the exhibit will tell the story of this link. And also there will be an exhibit showcasing Friends of Bailey Hill where people can learn about the future plans for the birthplace site of the town of Mold.
