VIOLENT Jonathan Norgrove, said by a judge to have a predilection for putting his hands around a woman’s neck, was jailed for 19 months on Friday – with his physically abused ex-girlfriend, and his new partner, both in court.
Norgrove, 28, of Trem Eryri, Llanfair PG, Anglesey, pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm on pregnant Natasha Wannop, 31, common assault on her and breaching a restraining order.
Judge Huw Rees at Caernarfon crown court told him :"This isn’t the first time you have assaulted a woman.”
He remarked :”I assess you to be a risk to women. You need to take the time during your period in prison to reflect carefully on where your life is going.”
A fresh five-year restraining order was imposed.
Matthew Curtis, defending, said the victim wasn’t at court in a supportive capacity. Norgrove hoped it would be the last time he appeared before the crown court.
Prosecutor Frances Willmott said the defendant had caused slight redness to the neck when he strangled his then girlfriend.
She’d hoped to “fix” her abusive partner.
