A Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) base on Anglesey has received £300 from an Asda store also based on the island.

Sam Broadley from the store in Llangefni was on hand to present a cheque to members of Trearddur Bay Lifeboat Station on Tuesday, September 3.

The £300, donated through the Asda Foundation Top Up scheme will be donated to the Ladies Lifeboat Guild.

It was given to the Trearddur Bay group to help support their RNLI coffee morning held at the beginning of August.

Member Christine Battye said: "We are very grateful to Sam and the Asda managers for their support and generous donation.

"All money raised will be going towards the RNLI to help save lives at sea."

The Trearddur Bay group regularly come up with ways to help support their local RNLI volunteers.

Between them and Trearddur Bay Ladies Lifeboat Guild also raised £1052.34 through a fundraising event held at the Trearddur Bay boathouse on August 25.

They have plenty of other fundraising activities coming up in the coming months.
