THERE is a chance to learn more about Bangor University at a special event.

The public will get the opportunity to explore the history of Bangor University’s Main Arts Building as a part of the 'Open Doors' initiative.

The striking Grade I listed building opened in 1911 and boasts a rich history and impressive architectural features.

David Roberts, the former registrar of Bangor University, will guide visitors around the building. He will also discuss its history and its notable architectural features in a talk entitled: “A Lasting Monument: the design and history of the University’s Main Building."

The guided tour will start from the foyer of the Main Building at 11am-12pm, on Saturday, September 14.

The Open Doors project gives the public the opportunity to have a look at some of Gwynedd and Conwy’s historical buildings, gardens and interesting and unusual locations for free throughout September.
