A MAN has been arrested and investigations are now underway following two fires involving multiple vehicles near a Llanrug golf club.

Police have confirmed a male has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

Both incidents happened on land near to the Tyddyn Mawr Golf Course.

At 4.54am on the Monday, September 2, one fire crew crew from Caernarfon attended when blaze in a camper van spread to a car. The incident was under control by 5.37hrs.

It followed an incident on Saturday, August 31, at 1.07am, when a vehicle was set alight and fire spread damaging seven vehicles.

Two appliances from Caernarfon and one from Llanberis attended.

A spokesperson for the North Wales Police said: "We attended two incidents of arson in the Llanrug area over the weekend.

"One male was arrested on suspicion of arson, and our investigations are ongoing.”
