LLANFAIRFECHAN Town Reserves kicked-off their Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One campaign with a 3-1 home victory over Henllan.
The only fixture on the league calendar to open the season saw the hosts emerge as eye-catching winners against a side who finished in a strong position last term, and they got their noses in front on 28 minutes when Ant Gustafson found himself some space to fire in the opener.
Things got even better for the home side soon after following another passage of play, and Gustafson was once again the recipient of a fine delivery before steering in his second goal of the contest.
Credit to the visitors, they bounced back well from the setback and they got themselves back into the game on 43 minutes when Alex Thomas finished well, reducing the arrears ahead of the first half interval.
After the break saw both sides spurn chances as the game opened up, but the telling moment arrived on 65 minutes and went in favour of Town as Elliot Croston restored their two-goal cushion and round off the scoring.
