AS A-LEVEL RESULTS are announced today, Gwynedd Council has congratulated the county’s pupils on their achievements.

He noted: “Once again this year, it’s a pleasure to state how pleased I am with the results in Gwynedd schools. The students and their teachers are to be congratulated warmly on their success.

“I would like to thank the schools and the teachers most sincerely for their hard work and professionalism, the students for their exceptional efforts and their families for their constant support.”

Mr Jackson drew attention to outstanding performance in individual subjects: “Although the numbers sitting examinations vary substantially across subjects, it is pleasing to note that the results are very good in Welsh, Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology, English Literature and Art and Design.

“The Skills Challenge Certificate (Welsh Baccalaureate) was introduced in September 2015 and is equivalent to an A Level. It is pleasing to see candidates’ success in achieving the qualification.”
