ANGLESEY Council has praised the "promising" results achieved by the island's pupils on A-level results day.

A spokesperson for the authority said: "We wish to congratulate all pupils who have received their A Level results today. We are very proud of our young people’s achievements.

"The results are very promising, and provide pupils with a strong foundation to move on to the next chapter of their careers."

Councillor Meirion Jones, the Portfolio Holder added: “Congratulations to the young people of Anglesey on receiving their A Level results today. The results are a testimony of the hard work, ability and devotion of our young people, which is something we should take pride in.

"It’s also important to congratulate and acknowledge the key part played by all of the staff at our schools and to thank them for their hard work. We would also like to thank the parents and guardians for their support.”

Anglesey’s Head of Learning, Arwyn Williams noted: “We wish to congratulate all pupils who have passed their A Level examinations this year. This is great news for Anglesey and we are very proud of our young people’s achievements. We wish them the best in proceeding to the next chapter of their lives.”

“It’s also important that we acknowledge the success of students in their AS examinations as these set a firm foundation for the second year of the qualification”.

“We would like to wholeheartedly thank the staff of Anglesey’s secondary schools for their conscientious work and the parents and guardians for their continuous support.”
