A former Anglesey hotel could be transformed into holiday lets after an application was submitted to council planners.

The Bull Bay Hotel near Amlwch was put on the market in 2017 for an asking price of £425,000.

Boasting 10 en suite rooms, bar and function room, the hotel has remained closed ever since.

According to local legend, the hotel was said to have five ghosts, with one of them reputed to be a former owner.

But the building in the village of Bull Bay could now be given a new lease of life after a screening application was submitted to planning chiefs.

The precursor to a full application, the plans also involve the partial demolition of the existing buildings as well as a new structure to house the planned shop, cafe and restaurant.

Such a screening application is usually submitted to establish what studies will need to be carried out as part of a full and formal planning application.

It’s expected that Anglesey Council planners will respond over the coming weeks.
