Firefighters tackled a house blaze in Gronant on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out in a kitchen at a home in Bryn Mor.
The incident was first reported at around 4.10pm, with two appliances from Rhyl attending the scene.
Two breathing apparatus were used by firefighters who battled the flames with one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilator.
They were able to successfully deal with the situation in a little under an hour after it was first reported with an official stop time at 5.08pm.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service later confirmed that the fire originated from the washing machine.
The fire service also confirmed that one person suffered smoke inhalation while another had shock.
