A NEW vicar has been appointed for churches in Rhuddlan and Bodelwyddan.

Reverend Jayne Coxall will start her ministry with a special service of welcome on Sunday, July 28. This will take place at St Margaret’s Church, Bodelwyddan at 11am and will be led by the Ven Andy Grimwood, Archdeacon of St Asaph.

Jayne was born in Cheshire. She studied horticulture at Reaseheath College in Nantwich and at Hadlow College in Kent, before working in various garden centres and plant nurseries.

The widow lives with her daughter Ellie, 18, and dog, Poppy.

She has worked with adults and children with additional educational and physical needs.

She said: "I am so thrilled to be moving over to Rhuddlan and Bodelwyddan and taking up my post there in two beautiful churches that have been places of prayer, worship and community for many, many years.

"I look forward to discovering what plans God has for us all."

Jayne started training for ordained ministry in 2014 whilst working full time and comes to Bodelwyddan and Rhuddlan from St Marks Church, Bredbury, Stockport, where she has been serving as curate.

On November 3, the Bishop of St Asaph, the Rt Revd Gregory Cameron, will come to Aber-Morfa Mission Area to commission Jayne and the whole ministry team, which will include Glen Mansfield as mission area leader, and the Rev’d Chris Spencer, from Bristol, who will be joining the team later in the summer.

Bishop Gregory said: "I am delighted to welcome Jayne to the diocese. Her gifts will be a great blessing to the churches in Rhuddlan and Bodelwyddan along with the wider Aber-Morfa Mission Area."
