POLICE are investigating following the recovery of a "sophisticated cannabis cultivation" operation in Abersoch.

Gwynedd South officers executed a warrant at a premises on the High Street on Sunday afternoon.

Officers are still at the scene (Monday) whilst the operation was safely dismantled and disposed.

Three people, two males and one female, all local to Pwllheli, were arrested and interviewed at Caernarfon custody suite on Sunday night, before being released under investigation.

A statement said: "Inspector Matt Geddes wishes to thank the local community for their willingness to share the information that allowed us to take this action.

"Such organised criminal ventures pose huge risk, not just associated with the illegal drugs being produced, but the installations themselves posing significant risk of fire and flooding.

"Anyone with any information in respect of this investigation or with information relating to any ongoing criminal activity is urged to continue sharing this with us.

"Help us pick who will be visited next!"
