OFFICERS are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner in a wheelchair was seriously injured following a collision with a car in Llanbedr, Gwynedd, on Wednesday morning. (June 26).
The woman was being pushed in a wheelchair along the A496 outside the Hafan Artro Hotel, when the accident happened.
Police received a report of the incident, just after 11.30am, from the ambulance service.
Emergency services attended, and the 89-year-old woman was airlifted by air ambulance to hospital in Stoke with serious, life-changing injuries.
Sergeant Nicola Grimes-Williams of the Roads Policing Unit is appealing for anybody who may have witnessed the collision to contact officers. She said: “The collision involved a Silver Mitsubishi Outlander which was travelling towards the Barmouth area.
“I am urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have been travelling along the A496 and who has dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anybody with information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number X088628.
