A HOLYHEAD-based outdoor retailer has been hit by an attempted break-in for the second time in as many months.

The Summit to Sea shop, based at the Penrhos Industrial Estate, posted the above picture on Facebook of the damage done to their shop window at 1pm today (Wednesday).

A statement from the store alongside the picture read: "Seven weeks since the last break-in and they came back for another go. Didn't even get in the building this time, fortunately.

"Just another window to replace. These are some of the hidden costs associated with running a bricks and mortar store."

A spokesperson for the store added: "We were burgled seven weeks ago and I caught the perpetrator coming out of the window. Despite the evidence (he was caught red handed). He was released under investigation.

"Last night someone tried getting in again, but was thwarted by our improved security."

North Wales Police said they were called today at 9.10am to reports of an attempted break-in at the store.

Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting ref X088543.
