THE world renowned Shakespeare’s Globe is returning to Pontio

A company of eight actors will once again offer audiences in Bangor a trio of plays this summer.

Four performances are being held at Theatr Bryn Terfel on Friday, July 5, Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7.

They are continuing with last year’s experiment, which revived the old Shakespearean tradition of allowing audiences to vote for the play they’d like to see.

This year’s audiences will cast their votes for The Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night or Pericles, all stories exploring the themes of refuge and displacement.

It will be up to audiences at Pontio to choose in three out of the four performances, and the rules are simple: the loudest cheer wins and the action starts straight away!

The only exception will be on Saturday afternoon, on July 6, at 3pm, where the play will be The Comedy of Errors.

As an added option on Sunday, July 7, the audience can enjoy a ‘Globe experience’ as standing tickets (£7.50) will be available for the 6pm performance.

Pontio is also offering a number of free events led by Bangor University academic staff around the Globe’s visit. See Pontio website for details: www.pontio.co.uk.
