A SUMMER fete planned for this weekend in Wrexham has been postponed because of the wet weather.
The annual event was due to be held at the Erlas Victorian Walled Garden tomorrow afternoon but it is a victim of prolonged heavy rain that has caused flooding across the region.
Wrexham Assembly Member Lesley Griffiths, who was due to attend the event as a proud patron of the charity, was among those hoping the event would have been a chance for people to discover one of Wrexham’s hidden treasures.
Located on Bryn Estyn Road, the Erlas Victorian Walled Garden is a charitable organisation led by a dedicated team of volunteers.
The innovative project provides specialised training and support for adults with learning and mental health disabilities in the Wrexham area, allowing individuals to improve their quality of life by developing mental and physical capabilities.
By supporting people living with a disability, the organisation also promotes the conservation, protection and restoration of the Erlas walled garden, which is believed to date back to the early 1800s.
Organisers say the event will now be rescheduled for later in the summer.
