A WREXHAM-based charity that provides cycling opportunities to all has received some much needed funding.

Pedal Power, the all ability cycling service based at Alyn Waters Country Park, was delighted to receive a cheque for £500 from Wrexham Erddig Inner Wheel on Friday.

Ann Larkin from the Wrexham Erddig Inner Wheel presented the cheque to Peter Kennedy, Cycling 4 All Officer. The money raised was from a charity day held at Bellis Brothers Garden Centre near Wrexham where three local charities all benefited from the event.

Pedal Power is a unique service which provides truly accessible, outdoor activities for all.

The variety of specialist bikes and trikes helps many people with different disabilities and health conditions to exercise achieve goals and have fun whilst doing it.

The service costs a significant amount of money to run and relies solely on fundraising and volunteers to keep going.

Mr Kennedy said: “Thank you so much to Wrexham Erddig Inner wheel for supporting Pedal Power.

“We will use this money to ensure our bikes are maintained so that more people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the health benefits of cycling along with the good social company which cycling can bring.”

Pedal Power is open Wednesday to Friday each week.
