THERE is a once in a lifetime chance to buy a slice of island paradise just off the Anglesey coast.

Ynys Faelog, near Menai Bridge, is a tiny, tranquil island in the Menai Strait. With stunning views, private beach, secluded headland, woods, private tennis court, mature trees and landscaped areas the island is reached via a tidal causeway.

Pedestrian access is available 24-hours, and there are no roads on the island, although parking is on a large slipway. The island is divided with the main part approximately 2.5 acres and is being marketed by Avison Young and Williams & Goodwin estate agents on behalf of its current owner Bangor University. Included in the sale is a two storey, 3,860 sq ft building, which has been used for educational purposes.

Other buildings include a boathouse and garage near the private slipway. The new owner will have just one set of neighbours.

Tom Merrifield, director of Avison Young's Wales office said: “Whoever buys this slice of paradise could build their dream home on the island, subject to planning, or use it as a retreat to nature."

Tim Goodwin, director at Williams & Goodwin, jointly handling the sale, said Ynys Faelog was causing "a considerable local buzz."
