A man with 105 previous offences for dishonesty was spared another jail sentence on Friday.
Instead Tony Sturrs, 32, of Bangor Road, Caernarfon, got an eight-week sentence suspended for a year with a drug rehabilitation requirement. He must pay £360 in a fine and costs.
Sturrs admitted stealing items worth £135 from J D Sports and Marks and Spencer at Bangor when banned from entering them by a Criminal Behaviour Order.
Bethan Williams, defending at Llandudno court, said that according to Sturrs he stole to fund his drugs habit.
“He takes drugs in prison which seem to be as easily available as outside,” she remarked.
