An abusive banned customer accused of a rumpus during which he punched a till after being refused service at a KFC restaurant at Bangor has been jailed for ten months.

Gethin Owen, 30, of North Road, Caernarfon, was found by police to have a lock knife when arrested, Caernarfon crown court heard. James Coutts, prosecuting, said he had 93 offences on his record including for violence.

Defence barrister Dafydd Roberts said Owen had pleaded guilty to offences of criminal damage and knife and drug possession. But he hadn’t brandished the knife which was in his pocket.

Owen needed to address his problems while in prison, counsel added.

Judge Huw Rees told Owen that on May 5 he had been drinking and taken drugs and was “out of control.” Police found the knife and amphetamine.

Judge Rees warned him :”You need to cool down and change your lifestyle.”

A three-year criminal behaviour order was imposed banning him from certain businesses including KFC.
