FIVE fire crews were were called to a huge gorse blaze, close to houses in Bangor on Thursday night.
The fire on Bangor Mountain happened at about 6.06pm and saw appliances from Bangor, Caernarfon and Llanfairfechan rush to the scene.
A North Wales Fire Service spokesperson said: "The cause is believed to be controlled burning that went out of control.
"There was 200 sqm of gorse involved, one tonne of wood and an aviary. The incident was under control by 10.47pm."
