A GORSE FIRE which took place in Gwynedd over the weekend is thought to have been started deliberately, according to the fire service.
At 5.15pm on Sunday, two fire crews were called to attend a blaze in the open involving more than 10,000sq metres of gorse and bracken at Clwt Y Bont, Deiniolen.
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue said: "Two crews from Caernarfon and one from Llanberis used 14 beaters to extinguish the fire. A stop was called at 8.07pm.
"The cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate."
North Wales Police confirmed they were called to attend the incident at 5.23pm. They added that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
