RESIDENTS in Gwynedd are reminded to register to vote.

The European Parliament Elections is on Thursday, May 23. People have until Tuesday, May 7 to register to vote, if they are not already on the Electoral Register. The closing date to apply for a postal vote is Wednesday, May 8 (at 5pm) and for proxy votes Wednesday, May 15 (at 5pm).

Dilwyn Williams, Gwynedd Council’s Electoral Registration Officer said: “It is important that people have the opportunity to take part in the election. People should not assume that they are able to vote just because because they are registered for things such as council tax."
