ANGLESEY will play host to the North Wales Armed Forces Day and Freedom of the County Ceremony next month.

From 11am on May 25, Newry Beach in Holyhead, is expected to welcome a large gathering of people who will come together to celebrate the occasion.

Highlights are set to include a parade by the Armed Forces community and granting of the freedom of the county to the Royal Navy Submarine Service.

The official Armed Forces Day itself takes place on June 29, with other venues such as the Carreg Bran Hotel in Llanfairpwll set to join in on that day.

The event is a chance to show support to the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

There are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support and get involved, from attending an event or joining us online to throwing a party or local event.
