A 25-YEAR-OLD MAN was walking free from jail on Friday after charges of rape and assault were dropped.
The prosecution at Caernarfon crown court offered no evidence against Tyrone Davies of Lon y Glyder, Bangor.
Mathew Dunford, prosecuting, explained to Judge Huw Rees that the woman involved had made it clear what happened was consensual.
Judge Rees said : “It does not surprise me we are arriving at this decision, and it’s a case with no forensic evidence.”
Davies did not appear.
His barrister Maria Masselis said she was sure arrangements would be made quickly to secure his release from prison, where he was held on remand.
