A PROJECT to raise the profile of Criccieth and promote the town has been launched.
The scheme, entitled: Criccieth’s Unique Streets, consists of a number of individual initiatives with the objectives of increase the footfall on the High Street, extending the tourist season and increasing the total visitor numbers to the town.
The focal point of the scheme is an art installation and sculpture located in the centre of the town designed to attract attention and be a draw to the town.
The town will host various themed events and competitions including an art festival day, the Creative Incident where adults, young people and children. can enjoy hands on art workshops.
There is a trail around town to spot and find hidden creatures, a fancy dress parade, and lots of other activities and events which will be organised over the coming six months.
There will also be a sculpture garden close to the high street and themed art pencils dotted throughout Criccieth High Street to mark the event.
History boards within the shops have been created which give an idea of the businesses on the high street in years gone by.
