THE team at of a North Wales hospice will be hitting Rhyl, Abergele and St Asaph to hear what services communities need most.

St Kentigern Hospice, in St Asaph, is currently undergoing an exciting new expansion to create a state-of-the-art hospice for which will be future proofed to continue to provide its services.

To help complement the future plans for the development service delivery, the hospice visit Rhyl Fire Station on Friday, April 26, Abergele Library on Friday, May 10 and St Asaph Cricket club on Friday 24.

A spokesperson for the hospice said: "The hospice team are very keen to thank the public for their support over the years. St Kentigern Hospice is very much at the heart of the community in many ways and could not function if this was not the case."

"Just 18 percent of the £1.6 million it will cost to run services for 2019 will come from the Local Health Board - this is only enough funding to support the hospice for 69 days.

"The Hospice continues to therefore rely upon on the generosity of the communities it serves in North East Wales to raise the additional funding for the remaining 294 days of the year."

The events held over the next few months - which also include stops in Denbigh, Ruthin and Holywell - will let members of the community have their say and help shape the future for the hospice by bringing ideas, experiences, and aspirations.

The team will also be using these events to showcase to the public a snapshot of what is already on offer at hospice, dispel myths and display their plans for the future.

The new hospice, which is set re open later this autumn, will increase by 50 percent with the hospice's inpatient services and extended day therapy services.

Other developments include a bereavement drama group, a transitional care youth club, a dementia specialist nurse and a community café allowing St Kentigern to cater to members of the public as well as patients and relatives.
