A VETERAN vegetable grower from Anglesey is heading back to the show where he scooped eleven gold medals.

After a nine-year break from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Medwyn Williams from Llanfair PG is set to return to the Grand Pavilion.

Medwyn’s accomplishment of 11 consecutive golds is one that has never before been achieved with vegetables.

He is hoping that he can continue his winning streak, and this time he is being helped on the stand by his son Alwyn and grandson Owain.

For the past eight months, Medwyn has been working with CANNA, a producer of nutrients and growing mediums for the cultivation of plants, aimed at developing the biggest and best vegetables.

Medwyn said: “I am thrilled to have three generations of the Williams family on the stand this year.

"I am looking forward to my return to Chelsea with my new sponsors.

"I hope to stage a few brand new varieties, particularly on the tomato side, so watch this space for more information on that!”

Ellie Blackburn, from CANNA, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring such an icon of the horticultural world.

"His use of our products to prepare for RHS Chelsea 2019 is a real seal of approval for us.”

Visit Medwyn on stand GPE223 to view his display of vegetables and to find out more about how he how grown them.

The show is on from Tuesday, May 21 until Saturday, May 25.
