ANGLESEY Sea Zoo has been crowned the 'Ethical Green Business' of the Year at the 2019 FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards.

At a glitzy ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff on March 23, companies highlighted their journeys and accomplishments after a shortlist process.

On receiving their award, Anglesey Sea Zoo owner and director Frankie Hobro said: "We’re delighted to be awarded the FSB Wales Ethical – Green Business of the Year Award.

"Sustainability and conservation are the underlying themes to everything we are, and this message is passed on to all our staff and visitors.

"It is wonderful to be recognised for our ongoing hard work for environmental protection."

Tourism is at the very heart of economic success on Anglesey – but as this industry grows so too does the need for tourism providers to reduce the environmental impact of their business. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all businesses to be as environmentally sustainable as possible.”

In 2016, Anglesey Sea Zoo were the first business on Anglesey and the first tourist attraction in North Wales to gain the Keep Wales Tidy Green Key Accreditation and they are now renewing the accreditation for the fourth year running.
