TWO men were arrested in Bangor on Wednesday, suspected of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply as part of the County Lines method of distribution in local communities.

County Lines is a term used to describe gangs, groups or drug networks that supply drugs from urban to suburban areas across the country, including market and coastal towns, using dedicated mobile phone lines or “deal lines”.

They exploit children and vulnerable adults to move the drugs and money to and from the urban area and to store the drugs locally.

Inspector Jon Aspinall said; “Acting on information from the public, officers arrested a 48-year-old man from Merseyside and a 32-year-old man from Blaenau Ffestiniog.

“We retrieved cash and a quantity of what we believe to be Class A drugs in a County Lines related offence.

“The men have been released under investigation while we carry out further enquiries.”

In a separate incident, officers executed a warrant in the Glan Peris area of Caernarfon where a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs and cash was recovered.

A local man and woman were arrested and later released under investigation.
