AN APPEAL for witnesses and dash cam footage of an accident which closed the Porthmadog A487 bypass has been made by North Wales Police.
A man was taken to hospital by air ambulance following a collision involving a heavy goods vehicle and a van.
North Wales Police tweeted: “Can you help? We're appealing for witnesses following a serious collision near Porthmadog earlier today which involved a HGV and a van. Anybody who may have witnessed or who may have dash cam footage is asked to contact us on 101 quoting ref X040474 http://socsi.in/UATgI .”
Earlier the police tweeted: “The bypass between Porthmadog and Penrhyndeudraeth is closed for vehicle recovery following a collision between a HGV and a van just before 9am today, One person has been flown to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries.
“Motorists are asked to take alternative routes.”
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Porthmadog and Harlech attended a road traffic accident involving two vehicles, a large vehicle on the bypass.
“One casualty was cut out of his vehicle and taken to hospital by the air ambulance.”
