THE ALEX FC look certain to reach another Rhyl & District Sunday League final after beating Sun Inn 8-2 in the first leg of their Lee Jones Memorial Cup semi-final.

Aidan Bell hit a hat-trick, Steve Williams bagged a brace and Nathan Williams, Adam Porter and Dave Maddocks scored the others as the visitors cruised to victory.

The second leg is set for Saturday, with the Sun Inn, whose goals were scored by Aaron Hoyle and Josh Williams, left with a real mountain to climb.

The Alex, have already reached one final this season, as they are set to face The Royal Oak in the Matty Perez Memorial Cup on April 28.

In the league, Bar Bow came away from FC Prestatyn with a 5-3 victory. Matt Shane put the home team in front before Adam Cassidy then equalised and swiftly put Bar Bow in front. Luke Eldron made it 2-2 at half time.

In the second half, Bar Bow turned on the style, racing into a 5-2 lead thanks to goals from Ryan Portman, Anthony Davies and Mark Price. Matt Shane's second goal of the day proved to be a mere consolation for Prestatyn.

Elsewhere, Towyn Rangers, who have won just two league games all season put up a brave fight at home to league-leaders Mally, but eventually lost 5-3.

John Colville gave Mally the lead before Harrison Bedson equalised for The Rangers. Steve Hughes and Dan Parry made it 3-1 to Mally before half time.

Anthony Gustafson made it 4-1 early on in the second half before Dale Matthews (4-2), Steve Hughes (5-2) and Steve Flanagan (5-3) completed a busy second 45 minutes.
