MORE than 500 people turned out in Bangor to support a call for a People's Vote on Brexit.

The march took place on Saturday, March 23 to coincide with an event in London. Hundreds of thousand of people were said to have taken part in the march in London.

This was organised by Put It To The People.

Supporters congregated from Park Lane and marched to Parliament Square

The demonstration in Bangor was held after a Plaid Cymru conference.

Hywel Williams MP for Arfon, who made a speech, said on his Facebook: "Over five hundred turning out in Bangor today to support the call for a People’s Vote which Plaid Cymru have consistently called for. A People’s Vote is the only credible option out of this Brexit mess. Thanks to all who came to support."

Delyth Jewell, South Wales East AM, also attended and made a speech. Other members of Plaid Cymru were also in attendance.

An online petition urging the Government to cancel Brexit has passed five million signatures.

A pro-Brexit petition on the Parliament website which urges the Government to leave the EU without a deal has received 455,000 signatures.

Prime Minister Theresa May ruled out halting the Brexit process when in Brussels on Thursday, telling reporters: "I do not believe that we should be revoking Article 50."
