ARTWORK utilising scrap metal is the focus of a new exhibition in Holyhead.
The Ucheldre Centre is featuring the work of artist Graham Jenkinson during the spring.
Graham Jenkinson: A New Life, is on show at the Canolfan Ucheldre, the centre for the performing and visual arts on Anglesey.
The exhibition officially opened on Saturday, March 16 and runs until April 15.
Graham Jenkinson has held a number of “extremely popular” exhibitions and workshops for both adults and young people at the centre over the years.
But he has recently been able to dedicate more time to his art, hence his title ‘A New Life.’
In the show he revisits and explores the possibilities of working with scrap metal.
Jan Thomas, at the Ucheldre says “Graham brilliantly, and wittingly, reimagines the shapes and forms found in the old, used and largely utilitarian pieces of metal he has collected, and creates extremely interesting, humorous, and arresting pieces of sculpture.
“Both freestanding and wall mounted, these new pieces have come together as an exciting and very special body of work.
“Many people have collected his work for both inside and outside display.”
Graham’s exhibition will be housed in the main gallery space at the Ucheldre throughout spring.
A new series of his workshops will be announced shortly.
