A HUGELY successful titles night has been held by local YFC members.

Clwyd YFC members enjoyed a very good night recently, where competitors vied for various titles in the movement.

Uwchaled's Gwenno Davies did well on the night by winning the senior member and county queen accolades.

She is also the chair of competitions, so she is going to have a busy year ahead of her.

In the senior member category, Nantglyn's Dafydd Davies was the runner-up, with Nia Parry (Whitford) finishing third.

Meanwhile, the runner-up in the county queen section was Lois Wynne (Uwchaled), with Elain Jones (Uwchaled) in third spot.

Idris Williams (Betws yn Rhos) was named as the junior member winner, ahead of Sara Williams (Cilcain).

In joint-third were Gruffudd Edwards (Uwchaled) and Phil Wood (Whitford).

Fiona Roberts (Whitford) won the situation vacant title, ahead of runner-up Gwawr Wynne (Uwchaled) and third-placed Elin Evans (Whitford).

When the final marks had been totted up, Uwchaled were declared the winners, with Whitford second and in third place were Nantglyn.

All of the winners will now go forward to represent Clwyd YFC in the national competition.

Thanks go to all the judges and stewards for their hard work on the night.

Meirionnydd YFC recently held its public speaking competitions at Ysgol Bro Idris, Dolgellau.

There was great praise from the judges for the standard of the entries.

Thanks go to the judges Lois Prysor Roberts, Iwan Meirion Lloyd-Williams and Ceri Meredydd for giving their time and offering up constructive comments.

The winners will be venturing down to Llanelwedd to represent the county in March.
