AN MP has welcomed news that the future of Snowdonia Aerospace is 'safe.'
Dwyfor Meirionnydd Member of Parliament Liz Saville Roberts was responding to news that the organisation, based in Llanbedr, has been safeguarded following its allocation by the Snowdonia National Park Authority (SNPA) as part of the Eryri Local Development Plan, covering the period until 2031.
The Snowdonia Aerospace centre is a hub for aviation enterprise in Wales.
She said: "I welcome today's announcement that the future of Snowdonia Aerospace in Llanbedr has been safeguarded.
"This news provides long-term certainty for potential investors and further strengthens the case to develop the site as a strategic hub for space-related technology.’
"It is of critical importance to both the local economy in Meirionnydd and the Welsh economy that all is done to promote the suitability of the site, and I would urge both the Wales Office and Welsh Government to renew their efforts to this end."
