THE hunt is on for the fastest person named Jones running in an Anglesey half marathon
The Jones Crisp Anglesey Half Marathon, organised by Always Aim High Events, is being held on Sunday, March 3
The annual event is a 13.1 mile race that starts on Menai Suspension Bridge. The route then follows the coast road to Beaumaris Castle looping back to the finish in Menai Bridge
During the run, the fastest male and female runners named ‘Jones’ runners will be awarded a special cash prize of £100.00 each.
“We wanted to celebrate the surname ‘Jones,’ said Geraint Hughes from Jones Crisps.
"What better way than to find the fastest male and female runner during the Jones Crisps Anglesey half marathon. There will be plenty of Joneses running, so being the fastest will be some achievement.
“We will be handing out a bag of Jones crisps to every runner that crosses the finish line.
"Crisps are an excellent way for runners to stock up after a hard run, and helps their energy and salt levels after their exertion”.
Thousands of supporters and spectators usually line the route, and the race has proved to to be popular by hundreds of runners from all over the country. During the day, there is also a 10K run, and a one-mile children’s race.
