A BANGOR school childcare club has proved it is all heart after donating cash to buy a defibrillator for the community.

After-school club, Caban y Faenol, at Ysgol y Faenol, Penrhosgarnedd, donated approximately £1,500 for a defibrillator to be placed at the front of the school.

It was provided by the Achub Calon y Dyffryn organisation, which aims to get defibrillators into communities across north Wales and promotes CPR.

A defibrillator is a device that gives an electric shock to the heart of someone in cardiac arrest.

The high energy shock is called defibrillation, and can save lives.

Morfudd Roberts said: "The Caban management wanted to do something for the community.

"We want people to know it is there and we are planning training sessions to show people how to use the machine, dates to be arranged."
