A HARLECH couple plan to raise more than £4,000 for charity by running in the Virgin Money London Marathon.
Simon and Judith Strevens will join a team of more than 200 runners aiming to raise £325,000 for Parkinson’s UK.
Simon, who is a former Parachute Regiment soldier, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2017 at the age of 40. He and Judith decided to take on this challenge in order to raise much needed funds, and to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease. They are also taking on the Anglesey Half Marathon on Sunday March 3.
Judith said: “We are running the marathon to give us both a positive focus following Simon’s diagnosis. Not only are we hoping to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease as well as much needed funds but improving our own health and wellbeing at the same time.
“Our training schedule is built around developing up our endurance, building up miles each week. The Anglesey Half Marathon on March 3 is part of our preparation.”
