POLICE officers are asking the public to remain vigilant following a spate of thefts from vehicles in the Llan Ffestiniog area in Gwynedd.
Over the last month North Wales Police have received several reports of vehicles being targeted and items stolen.
Sergeant Iwan Jones of the local policing team said: “We are urging residents to ensure that they remove any valuables from their vehicles and check that they are locked and secure.
“The offences are occurring overnight, so we are asking the local community to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to us.
“The majority of vehicle crime is completely avoidable. Leaving items such as bags and mobile phones on display in your vehicle is an open invitation for a thief. It only takes a few seconds to remove them, please don’t make it easy for thieves.”
If you know of someone who is committing car crime, or involved in the selling of stolen goods, please contact North Wales Police on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers Wales anonymously on 0800 555 111.
