GWYNEDD COUNCIL is giving the county's residents the chance to say thank you to its staff by choosing the winner of their "Gwobr y Bobl" People's award.

If you have received particularly good service or even encountered a recent incident where a Council worker has gone that extra mile, then now is your chance to show your appreciation.

For the third consecutive year, Gwynedd Council are asking residents to help them find the deserving winners of the award which aims to highlight the hard work their staff undertakes which may often go unnoticed.

Gwynedd Council chair, cllr Annwen Hughes said: “The ‘Gwobr y Bobl’ award has become an important way to show our appreciation to those staff members who go the extra mile to provide a first class service for the people of Gwynedd.

"Despite the cuts to public services, Council staff continue to make a real contribution to our communities day in and day out.

"We hope that the ‘Gwobr y Bobl’, and the appreciation of local people, can help celebrate the important work they do and inspire others to follow their example."

Every individual or team who receives a ‘Gwobr y Bobl’ nomination will be told of the feedback received and the overall winners will be honoured with a certificate and trophy in recognition of their hard work at the ‘Council at its Best’ ceremony held next spring.

The closing date for nominations is January 31. All nominations will be considered by the Council Chair and Vice-Chair and the winner will be announced at the staff awards ceremony in the spring of 2019.
