THE JD Welsh Cup fourth round tie between arch-rivals Bangor City and Caernarfon Town will be shown live on S4C.

The match between Huws Gray Alliance side and eight-times Welsh Cup champions Bangor and Welsh Premier League side Caernarfon will be played at The Citizens' Nantporth stadium on Saturday 26 January (7.30pm kick-off).

The teams haven’t met at the highest level for a decade and haven’t met in the Welsh Cup since 1998, when Bangor won 2-0 at Farrar Road.

The two clubs swapped places over the summer – Caernarfon being promoted to the JD Welsh Premier League and Bangor relegated to the Huws Gray Alliance.

Coverage of the game will take place from 7.20pm on S4C football flagship Sgorio and will be presented by Dylan Ebenezer (English subtitles available).

S4C Commissioner, Sport, Sue Butler said: "This tie is undoubtedly the standout match in the JD Welsh Cup fourth round.

"It has all the ingredients of a classic, a typical derby match mixed with the magic of this prestigious cup tournament. We are delighted to be broadcasting this match live.”

Highlights of all the fourth-round matches will be shown on Sgorio’ highlights show on Monday evening (January 28) and will also be available to watch online on the S4C Sgorio website.
