One if Britain’s most prolific pensioner offenders has escaped jail in his latest court appearance.
David Valencia, 69, living at a Bangor hotel admitted breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order, being in the Asda store in the city when banned and having a half bottle of sherry in his hand at Benllech.
Diane Williams, prosecuting at Caernarfon court, said Valencia was the second most prolific offender she had encountered in her career, and his behaviour was due to alcohol.
He was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for a year.
Defence solicitor Glyn Roberts said it was hoped that suitable supervised accommodation would be available soon.
Referring to his present hotel address court chairman Alwyn Roberts said: “Is it wise to place an alcoholic in licensed premises?”
