THE generosity of local people is "inspirational" according to the Arfon AM.
Assembly Member Siân Gwenllian joined volunteers at the Caernarfon Food Bank.
The food bank team were busy re-stocking the shelves as135 boxes were to be distributed at the centre just before Christmas.
Sian said: “It shouldn’t be like this. The UK is the seventh wealthiest state in the world and yet one in four children in Wales lives in poverty.
"One hundred and thirty five families in the Caernarfon area alone had to rely on the food bank for food for Christmas.
"This era of austerity and inequality has to end. On the other hand, the generosity of local people is inspirational and gives us hope for the future.
"I wish to thank volunteers everywhere who made Christmas just that little more bearable for people in need of support."
