A WALKER had to be rescued after he slipped and broke his leg.
The Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team say they received a callout at 3.30pm on Boxing Day.
The walker had slipped above Tan Y Bwlch in the Snowdonia National Park and suffered breaks in two places.
A spokesperson for the Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team said: "There came a large thump on Boxing Day as team’s turkey sandwiches hit the table simultaneously to respond to a call for assistance above Tan Y Bwlch to a walker who had slipped and badly broken his leg.
"The team deployed with two vehicles and 14 team members who quickly arrived on scene, administering analgesia and diagnosing and splinting a broken right tibia and fibula.
"The casualty was stretchered to an awaiting Mountain Rescue Ambulance and later transferred to an awaiting Welsh Ambulance at the roadside. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery!"
