A CAERNARFON woman is aiming to raise over £2000 as part of a campaign to support two Alzheimer's charities.

Gwynedd Council worker Ffion Lewis is hoping to raise the sum for the Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer's Reserach UK.

Her ultimate goal during the fundraiser is to complete her first London Marathon. However, to raise further money, Ffion will also be teaming up with Father Christmas to create personal letters for the children of Gwynedd.

"Each letter will be very personal to each child," Ffion explained.

"He has so many children on his list that he asks us, his official helpers, to collect all their details, the names of their family, their best friends, even their pets. Father Christmas also wants to know about anything interesting that she or he has done this year.

"Whilst he speaks many languages, I help him with his Welsh and now that I live in North Wales, I can help him those important differences in regional phrases!"

She says that the Alzheimer's charities are "close to her family’s hearts" as her grandmother, Peggy Davies, is currently living with the condition.

The money raised by that venture will go towards Dementia Revolution. Further details: Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/LlythyrSantaLetter/
