AN ENERGY company has claimed that power cuts in a Gwynedd Town yesterday may have been down to vandalism.
SP Energy Networks (Scottish Power) sent engineers to the LL53 and LL54 parts of Caernarfon yesterday evening as residents and businesses experienced electrical faults.
Although the problem was resolved within a couple of hours, workers found metal bars and bricks at the site.
According to SP Energy Networks, these objects appear to have been thrown into the 33kv compound.
"This potentially created the fault that affected around 2500 customers yesterday," A spokesperson said.
"The police have been informed about the incident.
"Our engineers were on the sight for quite some time yesterday afternoon/evening and did an excellent job to restore the power."
