A PWLLHELI holiday park is to receive a slice of a £100 million refurbishment programme.

The site is owned by the holiday company Haven which owns and operates 40 family holiday parks throughout England, Scotland and Wales. It plans to invest almost £100m across five of its sites over the winter to trial innovative new concepts for holidaymakers and holiday home owners.

At Pwllheli the Hafan y Môr holiday park’s outdoor activity area will be renovated to introduce a brand new all-action, multi-functional zone known as Dragon Lakes Adventure Village.

In addition, its existing restaurant will be replaced as Haven introduces the Coast House which offers multiple dining options under one roof.

Finally, holiday home owners at the site will have a fully refurbished owners’ lounge.

The company was unwilling to reveal how much of the £100 million investment was being spent at Pwllheli. It said it plans to have completed the works and re-open the park at Pwllheli next spring.

Graham Plant, operations director for Hafan y Môr said: “This park has been selected to trial new concepts, from foodie experiences to family-friendly activities. If successful, we will roll out these trials to the wider Haven group.”

Over the last couple of years the company has focused heavily on understanding what its guests want to see and how to bring this to life across all its parks and is now testing what it has learned so far at the five chosen sites.
