THE new year heralds a new season of entertainment at Bangor's Pontio.

An exciting new programme, from January to April 2019, has been announced. It all starts with Dwdl, Pontio family mascot, celebrating a birthday with Little Gift, performed by the M6 Theatre Company. S4C characters Sblij a Sbloj join the party

Bardd returns for a cabaret style evening and the Bangor Music Festival takes over at the beginning of February. Aled Jones Williams’drama Anweledig opens on February 19. Villagers, an Indie folk band from Dublin also perform in February, and a special concert celebrates Welsh composer Dilys Elwyn-Edwards with soprano Elin Manahan Thomas, on St David’s Day. Mid Wales Opera presents Tosca and OPRA Cymru, presents a new Welsh version of Fidelio. The BBC Welsh National Orchestra returns with the guitarist Thibaut Garcia.

The comedy club is back and there is stand up by Kiri Pritchard-Mclean in April. National Dance Company of Wales comes to the theatre in Awakening, and Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru present a ‘double-bill’ of drama on March 19 and 20. There is circus, theatre and illusion from March 15-16, when Barely Methodical Troupe, return and there is an evening with best of BE FESTIVAL.
